WH3N TH3 FUTUR3 TRI3D TO T4K3 M3
with Mama Cutsworth and Tanja Faylene Woloshen
Friday, November 6, 2026
West End Cultural Centre, Winnipeg
óFukami invites you to the official launch of her debut album When the Future Tried to Take Me — a night of experimental sound, movement, and dance between worlds.
Japanese Irish Canadian artist Keri Latimer brings her theremin and voice into the room as óFukami, performing alongside butoh artist and collaborator Tanja Faylene Woloshen in their joint work H3LD. Winnipeg's beloved DJ and producer Mama Cutsworth joins for a live collaboration before taking the decks for a sci-fi dance party to close the night. Featuring time-lapse visuals by Joel Penner.
Sci-fi, fantasy, and time travel attire warmly encouraged. Come as whoever you'll be in another century.
THE ART OF UNSEEN FREQUENCIES
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
ÓFukami is the alter ego of composer and thereminist Keri Latimer, a Japanese–Irish–Canadian artist whose work fuses human emotion with machine resonance.
Her debut album, When the Future Tried to Take Me (2026), merges theremin, ethereal vocals, modular synth and a makeshift koto into a cinematic, otherworldly soundscape. Part sci-fi opera, part meditative transmission.
Her collaborations include Academy Award–nominated Frozen River, art installations with Guy Maddin and feature theremin performances with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
